The most impressive models in the Ford F-150 Lightning lineup are the F-150 Lightning XLT ER and the F-150 Lightning Lariat at 320 miles. On the lower end, the F-150 Lightning Pro SR, the F-150 Lighting XLT SR, and the F-150 Lightning Larat SR are estimated to have a 230-mile range. A recent study on EVs performed by a team at the University of Michigan and Ford Motor Company found that pickup trucks have shown greater greenhouse gas emissions than other light-duty vehicles. The study found that when you replace an internal combustion engine pickup with one that has an electric battery, this results in a total reduction of 74 metric tons of carbon dioxide over the lifetime of the vehicle. In addition to offering an impressive reduction of greenhouse gasses, the Ford F-150 Lighting does not sacrifice an ounce of strength. Even with an all-electric powertrain, the truck can still tow up to 10,000 lbs. with the Extended Range battery and haul up to 2,000 lbs. with the Standard Range battery.
